Beginning Fencing

Event Description:
Learn to fence with Amgad Khazbak, Coach for the Bluegrass Fencers Club in Lexington and EKU Fencing Club here in Richmond. Coach Amgad was former foil champion in Egypt, and coached the Egyptian national team for many years before coming to Kentucky. The class will include the basics of foil fencing, including footwork, attacking, defending, and bouting (fighting) with opponents! Equipment is provided by the EKU fencing club but participants must pay $10 for use of equipment. Wear comfortable, loose pants and athletic shoes. Ages 8 and older. Weaver Gym (Class will meet in Weaver Dance Studio on Oct. 24) S • Oct. 17 - Nov. 21 • 12 - 1pm
